A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of creating some gorgeous dresses for two hot ladies, Emma and Charlotte, who have just shared a fabulous account of their experience at Sassy HK.
You can read the full article here. You may also like to see a few more fab shots from the collection taken by the brilliant Michelle Proctor Photography in the cool up and coming area of Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.
Thanks ladies. You look amazing.

I love dresses. No I mean I seriously LOVE dresses. As a kid who watched far too much TV I still remember every gown I saw in my mum’s much loved musicals, the impression those shoulder pads made as the brat pack movies hit our screen and the swagger of a celebrity sashaying down the red carpet.
As the years have gone by, the memory card in my head is fit to burst but the images are all still there, as vivid as when I first saw them. Associated with each is a Continue reading
THE SWING DRESS
The swing dress makes it appearance in the hall of fabulous wardrobe fame by being a classic versatile little number that has dressed style icons from Audrey Hepburn to, more recently, Olivia Palermo, Adele and Carrie Bradshaw.
The swing dress started life in the dance halls of the 40s, for fun loving girls who wanted to swing and lindy hop on the dance floor whilst flashing a bit of leg when they swirled.
Good for slimmer figures to add curves and for fuller figures to add balance it can be worn with or without sleeves for both casual and formal occasions.
The classic swing dress is usually a knee-length dress, fitted at the waist and flared so that it swings with the wearer. Sleeveless, cqp and ¾ sleeves all look great with this dress as do bateau, scoop and V slit necklines.
The dress is supremely versatile and can be worn in crepe, silk, cotton, leather, lace, taffeta etc.
The addition of a narrow belt to highlight the waist is essential. Add a thicker belt to smooth the silhouette. Accessories should be kept to a minimum to avoid excess fuss.
THE SHIRT DRESS
When it comes to the shirtdress I am a huge fan. The often forgotten shirtdress is a hugely versatile piece to have in your fabulous wardrobe. It’s incredibly flattering for all body shapes and can be dressed up or down depending on your needs.
Not one to be smug, the shirtdress is useful on occasions you didn’t even know you needed in your life, as well as those you know you do! Pimms o’clock? – got it covered. Daytime shopping with the girls – it’s there. Picking up the kids from school- totally on it. Work meeting with a client – say no more. Wafting around being fabulous – easy peasy.
The shirtdress should be the first thing you reach for when you wake up in the morning, before you even drink your coffee. Nuff said.
This button-fronted dress, typically cut without a seam at the waist, and worn with a belt, has a looser fit and more forgiving style. Typically worn in cotton or silk it can be belted at the waist or slung more casually at the hips.
Muted colours work well in the day with a leather belt and large handbag.
For an evening luxe look wear in bright colours or prints with bold jewelry and bling sandals.

Worn long and lean the luxe maxi shirt dress is glamorous, sexy and forgiving all rolled into one (who needs more I hear you cry).
Bling it up with statement jewelry to get that “I just threw on this little number and yet looked amaaazing”, evening vibe. Super easy and super chic you will turn heads in bold colours and bold prints.

Raising 30,193 USD in our Indiegogo campaign in November last year was an amazing experience (if you missed out on how we did it check out our top 10 tips for nailing crowdfunding here).
However now the dust has settled, we have been able to take some great learnings from the data generated that has shaped our recent website launch and development plan for the rest of the year. Whilst we were probably a bit different from the typical crowdfunding campaign thanks to our female target market and highly customized product, we think the data may be of interest nonetheless…. So here’s our crowdfunding success distilled into 10 killer numbers
