Building a fabulous wardrobe – THE ESSENTIALS (Part 2)

THE SHEATH DRESS

The sheath dress is the epitome of “classy and fabulous”.  Made famous by designers like Coco Chanel and worn by style icons like Audrey Hepburn, Marylyn Monroe and more recently Kate Middleton, the sheath dress can be a formal power statement or a sexy little black number. It is easily worn in a causal or dressier manner, depending on what it’s paired with.  It’s a staple must have.

STYLES
Classic pencil sheath

More is often less with this statement piece.  Wear in black for a chic office look that says you mean business or wear red to ooze power. Accessorize with a pair of killer heels and a sassy handbag to boot. Job done!

Strapless

If formal glamour is your need opt for a strapless version in classic black or a bold colour like teal. Opt for mix and match colour blocking for a more jaunty style.  Adding a statement necklace creates some va va voom.

Wrap

If a lower cut top is more your style a wrap style sheath is uber flattering. Wear as one block colour or mix and match top and bottom for added interest.

Ruffle

If you like the tight fit of a sheath but want something a bit more forgiving opt for a ruffle sided sheath that focuses the eye away from your problem areas.
